The Alaska Team will travel to work alongside missionary Scott Kirby and will involve several projects including ministering to local children through Vacation Bible school in several community parks in Anchorage. The communities we work in are Sudanese, Samoan, Hispanic, Native American, Korean, Hmong, and multi-ethnic.Mountain View, one of these communities, has been ranked the most diverse community in America. The team will be in Mandeville, Jamaica, working with several local churches. The team will be putting together Vacation Bible School sessions where they will serve as teachers: teaching them through a simple curriculum, leading them in songs of worship, and assisting them during the arts and crafts time. With the junior high and high school students, we will have the opportunity to get to know them through various games, activities, discussions, and relational evangelism.

During this short-term mission trip you will be tasked with reaching out to Kawangware’s poverty-stricken residents in engaging ways through skits, sports, medical clinics, Vacation Bible School, Bible studies, church services, prayer walks, relational evangelism, and other unique means. This trip includes museum visits and a two-day safari to The Masai Mara National Reserve. Imagine the possibility of seeing a lion steal a cheetah’s kill. This journey promises to be unlike any other you’ve ever been on, and will not leave you unchanged. **This trip requires a visa, immunizations, and malaria medication. The visa costs an additional $55 USD for US citizens.

CAIRO, EGYPT— Friday, January 31 to Friday, February 7, 2020

 

Together with Keith Haywood, OM USA Senior Director of Church Partnerships, and an OM Egypt Senior Leader you will:
• Gain perspective on the current situation in Egypt.
• Attend an Egyptian Evangelical Church on Sunday and “The Cave Church”, North Africa’s largest church.
• Visit families and an outreach center in Garbage City on the outskirts of Cairo.
• Interact with teachers and students at a school, outreach center and local church made up of refugees from neighboring Sudan.
• Connect with a leadership training school for church planters serving in Sudan.
• Meet with Egyptian and expatriate leaders to learn about their ministries across the country, including the plight of persecuted Egyptian believers.
• Take a boat excursion on the Nile River and pray for this nation.
• Visit the Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids, the Sphinx, and the traditional location where Jesus’ family stayed.
• Explore partnership opportunities for your church to help reach the peoples of Egypt.
